Understanding SMS API in OpenCart SMS Module

Easily enable OTP and SMS order notifications on your OpenCart store by integrating a GET or POST SMS API from any provider like MSG91, Fast2SMS, or Textlocal—no coding needed.
1. What Is This Feature?
The Purpletree SMS extension will set up a feature on your website to automatically send SMS messages to your customers. These messages include:
OTP (One Time Password) for secure login or registration
Notifications when an order is placed, shipped, or delivered
This helps improve customer communication and adds extra security to your website.
2. What Do You Need for This to Work?
To send SMS messages, Purpletree SMS Extension must connect to a mobile messaging company known as an SMS provider. This provider gives you access to something called an SMS API — a special internet link that allows your website to send SMS messages.
3. Who Provides the SMS API and Other Details?
You must sign up with any trusted SMS provider. Here are a few options:
After signing up, the provider will give you:
User ID – This is your account username
Password or API Key – This is a private key used to send SMS
Sender ID – This is the name that will appear as the SMS sender (for example: MYSHOP)
API URL – This is the link your website will use to send messages
