Viewing and Removing Abandoned Carts

Go to Abandoned Cart in admin to view customers who left products in their cart. You can monitor cart details and configure automatic email reminders or automatic deletion of cart products after a specified number of hours using cron settings.

Cron Settings

To enable automatic email alerts and cart deletion, set up a cron job that runs every hour. Configure the correct cron URL based on your OpenCart version to ensure reminders and cleanup actions work properly.

Email Template

You can customize the abandoned cart email from the Email Template section. Do not modify the variables _name and _links, as they are required to display the customer name and cart product links correctly in the email.

    FAQ – Abandoned Cart Reminder Extension

    To check products left in carts, go to the admin panel and click on “Abandoned Cart”. This section shows all abandoned cart data.

    To configure cron settings, click on the “Cron Setup” tab in the Abandoned Cart admin section. From here, you can enable automatic email alerts and automatic cart deletion using cron.

    Follow these steps:

    • Set “Yes” for Send E-mail 1 time only option
    • The Send E-mail after Hours option will appear
    • Enter the required hours
    • Click on the Submit butto
    The alert email will be sent to customers based on the entered hours.

    Follow these steps:

    • Set “Yes” for Delete Cart products option
    • The Delete cart products after Hours option will appear
    • Enter the required hours
    • Click on the Submit button
    Customer cart products will be deleted automatically after the specified hours.

    Cart product alert emails are sent according to the hours defined in the Send E-mail after Hours option.

    Customer cart products are deleted based on the hours set in the Delete cart products after Hours option.

    Automatic cart product email alert and automatic cart deletion are not available for OpenCart 2.0 version.

    To change the email template, click on “Email Template” in the admin panel.

    Important: Do not change _name and _links.

    • _name is used for customer name
    • _links is used for product links

    Yes.

    Setting a cron job is required for sending abandoned cart email notifications.

    The cron job must be set to run every hour.

    The cron should run at the 0th minute of every hour:

    To remove the extension:
    • Go to Extensions → Extensions
    • Find “Purpletree Abandoned Cart”
    • Click on the Uninstall button on the right side
